A Century of Sailing on Barnegat Bay

Separated from the Atlantic Ocean by New Jersey’s barrier islands, Barnegat Bay is a spectacular body of water with small towns and 14 yacht clubs dotting its shores. The unique conditions on the shallow bay have led to a storied sailing tradition, including its famous catboats. One hundred years ago sailors formed the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association to organize racing among its clubs. Chasing Roosters chronicles this exciting and influential part of American sailing.
